Globaltech-1

Unit description

The Globaltech-1 project is a mobile offshore application barge (MOAB). The unit is a self-raising and self-regulating barge. It was created for the Alstom consortium (AREVA Energietechnik GmbH) to work on wind farms in the German economic zone in the North Sea. Thanks to the constructed wind farm, CO2 emissions will be reduced by 1 million tons per year. Globaltech-1 provides accommodation for 37 people.

Scope of work

In 2011, in the Netherlands, AN-ELEC was entrusted with the following works on the Globaltech-1 project:

• comprehensive cabling installation
• low voltage switchboards
• control panels
• monitoring and alarm control system
• energy management system
• fire and gas protection system
