Pontoon MPP (NB131)
Project description
A specialized unit known as MPP (multi-purpose pontoon). NB131 is to play a key role in the construction of a tunnel that will connect Denmark and Germany (with the ports of Puttgarden in Germany and Rødbyhavn on the Danish island of Lolland).
This unusual unit will be equipped with two hoppers, each with a capacity of up to 7,000 tons of gravel. SDT – a remote-controlled tool for dumping and laying gravel, a total load capacity of 14,000 tons and 433 kW of crane drive power are just some of the features characteristic of NB131.

Scope of work
AN-ELEC was responsible for the following scope of work on the Ponton MPP project (NB131):
- Construction and installation of a power switchgear at SDT
- Installation of cable passages
- Sealing of cable penetrations
- Installation of cable trays
- Fabrication and installation of fixtures for electrical equipment and devices
- Installation of accessories, automation elements and electrical devices weighing up to 1200 kg
- Location, fastening, marking and connection of cables, wires and optical fibers (approx. 70,000 m)
- Commissioning and approval of cables and devices for Quality Control, shipowner and BV
